This Application was for a facility essentially the same as the present KAAY Facility that would have been located at Marion, Arkansas, NW of Memphis. As a sop to Hot Springs, they proposed to establish (as I recall) a 5 kw Station on 550 kHz.
With the loss of the NBC Red Network to KARK, KTHS could no longer make a living in Hot Springs.
KTHS would have produced a tremendous signal up and down the Mississippi River at night, but it would no longer be an Arkansas Station. The Governor of Arkansas became involved and the Construction Permit was withdrawn.
After that, KTHS attempted to move to McAlmont, Arkansas (south of Jacksonville) and then successfully moved to Wrightsville.
